Students in Mrs.Tardif's first grade class had fun recently with ice experiment and testing out insulators! The children's reactions as the results were unveiled were priceless - lots of giggles and gasps!

We had a wonderful surprise today, two very generous donations from the Popham Circle Woman's Club. One to our Grandmother's fund and the other to the Bath Area Back Pack program. This donation will help many students at PES. What a great community Phippsburg is!

Congratulations to our 5th Grade Math team for their 15th place finish at the Southern Maine Elementary Math League competition! What a great first showing. Thank you Coach Patty McLaughlin for volunteering to work with this group each Wednesday during Great Start.

CONCERT POSTPONED

Don't miss our winter band and chorus concert tomorrow, December 17th at 6pm!

In art last week students did drawings of turkeys.

Fourth graders had an excellent and educational field trip to the Maine Maritime Museum last week to participate in their Wabanaki program. We observed the differences between pre-Columbian and post-Columbian canoe building techniques, then donned official curator gloves to explore various Wabanaki artifacts as we formed ideas about their uses and how they were made. Lastly, we had the chance to test our fishing skills with the use of a Leister spear as we "fished" for cucumbers! The kids had a blast and learned a lot!

Second graders visited the Outdoor Classroom on Friday.

Today first grade did a pumpkin investigation!
