500 music students, from 80 high schools across the State of Maine, have been selected to perform in four ensembles at the Maine Music Educators Association All State Festival. These students were chosen by audition, the top scores were selected to attend. The Festival will include Concert Band, Mixed Choir, String Orchestra and SSAA Choir. These students will come together from across the state to rehearse for 3 days at the University of Maine, Orono. Their concerts will include Concert Band and String Orchestra at 11 AM on Saturday, May 17th and Mixed Choir and SSAA Choir at 3:30 PM on Saturday May 17th at the Collins Center for the Performing Arts, Orono, ME. The students will also attend a concert by New York Voices at the Collins Center for the Performing Arts on Friday, May 16th at 7 PM.
Our music department currently has one percussion student, Gracious Emery, who has qualified for this prestigious honor and will be participating in the All State Festival this week. She has worked hard and will represent Morse High School and RSU1 well!
