Solar Star Lodge # 14 is proud to bring a program called Bikes for Books to the Fisher Mitchell School. Bikes for Books is a reading incentive program for children in grades K-8.
This is how the program works: For every book a child reads, they get a ticket to fill out and put into a drawing for a new bicycle and helmet. They will be able to read books and submit entries from February 17, 2023 until April 7, 2023. During a school assembly on the 7th of April 2023, the school representatives will draw one ticket for a boy and one for a girl from each class and those children whose names are on the tickets will win a new bicycle and helmet. The more books they read the more chances they get. Principal Berkowitz will pass this information on to the Staff so all the children will know what is expected.
Solar Star Lodge provides all materials, letters, bikes and helmets at no cost to the school or winners. We do ask that a parent/guardian provide a way to get the bike home from school.
